COUNCIL OF ELDERS THREATENS TO STOP MWEA LAND DEMARCATION 
The Embu Council of Elders ‘Nyangi Ndiriri’ has vowed to move to the High Court to stop demarcation of land in the controversial Mwea settlement scheme.
Led by their Chairman Andrew Ireri, the elders have accused politicians and county officials of allocating themselves huge chunks of the 54,000ha parcel of land at the expense of Embu residents. “The Embu County government is constitutionally the trustee of the community land, unfortunately, county officials are allocating the land to themselves and their families”, added Ireri.
